I’m a HUGE journal person. I specifically like to use a spiral bound one and always have one on hand. I use my journal(s) to take notes, design paintings, make business plans and to write down ideas that come to mind. Can you believe I even keep one next to my bed so if I wake up in the middle of the night and have an idea, I can write it down!

Finding My Journal

My family and I took a short vacation to Disney World at the end of the year and I came across this beautiful leather-bound Enchanted journal. Now, typically I would have wanted it to be spiral bound but Enchanted is one of my favorite movies and this one was just too pretty to pass up!

I’m so excited about this new journal! I am going to devote it to drawings and painting design planning. I usually just go straight to painting so drawing with pencil is very DIFFERENT. The first thing I drew in it was a mountain scape with the words “The Dreamer”. Then Pixie said “Please draw me!”. I was so scared I was going to mess up her face so I just did one of those drawings where it doesn’t have a face. I’m going to be creating a TON of Paint Party Headquarters paintings in this one.

Find Your Journal

If you don’t have one, get one. It doesn’t have to be fancy; it could just be a spiral bound notebook. You can get them anywhere, Marshals, Home Goods and even a book store. A journal is a great way to create and it is something just for you. Use it to create and to write down your thoughts and ideas.
