Have you ever had a time when you felt totally alone or like you didn’t belong?

I have had many times in my life when this has happened and I’m sure it has happened to you too.

At the end of the day we all want to feel like we belong. We want to feel like we are seen, heard, like we matter.

I have to admit…

I’ve been to quite a few business conferences over the past 6 years and coming to this one I was nervous.

I was meeting 9 women that I’ve talked to everyday for over a year and my nervousness was…will they like me and accept me in person as they do online. Will our personalities clash? Will we become friends even?

So… as my nerves calmed down and I actually got to meet each one of these beautiful souls, as Kristi Wells puts it, I fell in love. Not only with each one of them and their personalities, but how they love God, their families, and this crazy mis-mosh of ladies from all over the US.

I think it was on the drive across the border into Canada when I started yelling Be Cool… Be Cool… as we approached customs that we all busted out laughing. Between laughing, learning, tears, and late nights, I had this moment like Will Ferrell in the movie Step Brothers “DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS!”

It was truly a trip I’ll never forget!

As I reflect back on how this can help you, I just want to say keep learning, challenging yourself…. fail and fail again. Fail until you succeed! And then push yourself to fail again because that’s how you grow. Go to conferences, meet new people, don’t take life too seriously because it’s all just temporary. This life is short. Make it fun. Make it matter. Stop hiding who you are and be bold.

You never know who you will meet who can totally change the course of your life.

Forever grateful
