Ever wanted to host your own paint party? Well, you should! Not only is it a ton of fun for you and all your attendees, but it can also help fast track your business too. It doesn’t have to be complicated, hard, or scary either. Here’s how to host a DIY paint party night!

So, obviously I love to paint. But, you know what’s even more fun than painting? Painting with friends! And what’s even more fun than that? Painting with friends AND getting paid too!

That’s why I host paint parties – it gives me an opportunity to share what I love with people in the real world, while also helping them learn how they can create art for themselves too!

I’m a huge believer in living a life you love that uses all your God-given talents to make a very good living. And that’s exactly what we’re chatting about today.

How to Host a DIY Paint Party Night

I’m going to show you exactly how to host a DIY paint party night that your friends will talk about for years to come. Trust me, by the end of this post you’ll be ready to send out the invites!

1. Send Out the Invites

A simple group text or evite works just fine – there’s no need to bust out the fancy stationery…unless you really want to! Pick a day and time at least a few weeks out and let people know when to come over and what to bring,

Should I Charge for my At-Home Paint Party?

Whether you want to charge or not for the paint party is up to you. You may feel like you want a few “trial” runs before charging. However, in this case, I certainly recommend asking your attendees to help cover the cost of supplies at a minimum. Your friends love you and want to support you – and you are worth it!!

2. Decide What You Will Teach

Now you’ll need to figure out what art you’ll teach your friends to paint. Here are a few of my favorite ideas to get you started:

You’ll get access to a ton of materials, including lots of ideas for what to paint and step-by-step directions for teaching that piece.

3. Shop for Supplies and Get Them Ready

Shop for paint party supplies including:

  • canvas
  • paintbrushes
  • acrylic or latex paint
  • painter’s tape (optional)
  • snacks and beverages of your choice!!!

4. Host the Party!

On the day of the event, set up a table with the materials and snacks for your guests.

Then, once your guests arrive, it’s painting time! Walk them through how to paint the design and provide instructions on basics like how to mix paints, as well as other tips like how much paint you’ll need and what brushes are best.

Things you may think are “too basic” are exactly what your guests want to hear! They are there to relax and have a good time painting – make it easy for them. 🙂

And that’s it! See how simple that was? You just learned how to host a DIY paint party night from your home!

Again, I invite you to Join me inside Paint Party Headquarters where not only will you learn in more detail how to host events both in person and online, but you’ll have an entire sisterhood cheering you on as you go. It’s the best!
