I’m talking with Michelle Stone, a member of Paint Party Headquarters. She owns Lightnin Bug Designs and has had HUGE success with Art Kits. She’s fairly new to Paint Party Headquarters, joined around August/September. Not only has she started her paint party business but she also has a full-time job. This makes her time VERY limited.
Success with Art Kits at Craft Shows
Right before Halloween Michelle did a craft show and she only took 20 art kits with her. She only had four designs available. The craft show opened at 10 am and she SOLD OUT by 11:30 am. Thank goodness she had lots more inventory or she would have been done for the day. People loved the Art Kits! They thought they were super cute and a great idea. Customers were placing orders even after she sold out.
December rolled around and she had another craft show scheduled. She decided to bring three times the amount, so 60 art kits this time. They sold out by 2:30!!!
What’s in her art kits?
Michelle’s art kits are super simple, they include a pre drawn canvas, acrylic paint, paint brushes, cup, napkin and a picture of her completed painting in a brown craft bag with handles. She sells them for $12 each and is still profiting 50% or more!
There are so many ways to do these art kits. Michelle isn’t even doing a video, not zoom call, not even Facebook video. She says she is not the TECH guru, she’s a people person! She wants to have that paintbrush in hand and just chat.
Michelle’s Advice
She says if you’ve got it in your heart, JUST DO IT! Don’t hold back. Don’t wait. Biggest thing of all, don’t be AFRAID! Be done with all the fears and just do what you love. Do what you feel you are called to do. Her advice? Lean on your sisters in Paint Party Headquarters.
When she started her focus was Art Kits for kids and she was stumped. She didn’t know what to paint for them. One of her Paint Party Headquarters sisters, Debbi Kastner was very inspiring. She shared designs that Michelle was able to use with her permission and it got her started in October for Halloween Art Kits.
Now she has a corporate event for 30 people and several paint parties scheduled!
